DRAWING & PAINTING: All Media (6 and Up) Instructor: Gay Paratore Thursdays, 4:30-5:45 p.m.
Students will explore the
versatility of various materials such as pencils, markers, pastels, pen &
ink, and watercolors while learning different painting and basic drawing

Students will learn to enhance their creative and critical
thinking skills by combining drawing, painting, printmaking, and mask making
techniques. Students will create projects using both wet and dry media.
Finished projects will include multi-media works including collage and
assemblage (3-D) works. Material Fee:

GUITAR LESSONS- Group
Instructor: Dmitri Tchoulanov Internationally trained at the Odessa School of Music in the
Ukraine, Moscow School of Music in Russia and Ecole de Musique in
France.

Guitar (10 to 18) (Acoustic or

Students - will learn the proper sitting and
holding positions, focus on finger placement and posture, and learn basic
chords and plucking techniques. This course is for complete beginners or those
wanting a fresh start with a more structured approach. Bring your own
instrument. Beginning Electric
Students - will learn about the fundamentals
of playing electric guitar, fingering, and sound producing techniques.
Equipment use and preferences will be discussed. A few basic chord progressions
and melodies will be learned, to be developed in the Intermediate Guitar
(Electric) course. This course is ideal for absolute beginners. Bring your own
instrument.  Time: 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.

Friday
Afternoons Intermediate Guitar (10 to 18) (Acoustic or Electric) Intermediate
Acoustic Students - will continue building
on techniques that they know, developing more complex fingering and plucking
techniques and working on music reading and rhythm exercises. This course
integrates some basic music theory with guitar instruction. Great for those who
know the basics and want to delve deeper into the world of classical guitar.
Bring your own instrument. Intermediate Electric
Students - will continue working on their
electric guitar technique; both left and right arm exercises will be done.
Emphasis will be placed on chord progression and improvisation, while some
basic music theory will also be integrated. Bring your own instrument, and get
ready to jam!

FREE FORM WIRE PENDANT:
Basic Wire Wrapping (14 to Adult) Instructor:
Annette Kinslow Tuesday, April 6, 2010 (Register
by March 29th) This is a good
beginners class. You will never look at objects the same way again.
In this class the student will learn the
basics of Wire Wrapping: how to make loops, spirals and how to properly wrap
wire around wire. This is a great technique for wrapping found objects.
The student will leave with a finished
pendant. All supplies are included in tuition.

SIMPLE PRINTMAKING (15 to Adult) Instructor: Rikki Mitman Saturday, April 10, 2010 (Register by April 3rd) Learn two methods for creating prints. Watercolor monotypes
result in painterly images, while block prints can be very crisp and precise.
Best of all, you do not need strong drawing
skills to make these prints -- bring black and white line art images that fit
within a 5 x 7 area to use as a guide under your watercolor plate.
Bring a black and white line art image that
fits within a 3 x 5 area, printed on a toner printer or copier, for your
linoleum block print. Or, you can draw your images freehand if you prefer. You
will come away with 4-6 prints and the ability to repeat these activities at
home. Bring a sack lunch. You supply the
images, we supply all the materials!

a personal response through their art work. This is an integrated approach to
learning where students use left-brain learning and communication, to inspire
right-brained creativity and works of art. This class is a good supplement for
home school art programs.

POETRY DISCOVERY (12 to

This class is designed to introduce you to
a wide variety of poets and poetry styles. There will be reading and
responding to poetry in a variety of ways, including visual, verbal, and
written. Shared techniques will help those who wish to write their own poems,
using writing from prompts and exercises to respond to poetry, and make the
most of your ideas. This workshop will have something for all people
interested in poetry, from the novice to those more familiar with poetry, from
someone who just wants to know more about poetry to those who wish to go deeper
into writing their own poems. What to bring: a notebook,
something to write with, copy of a favorite poem, and your enthusiasm.
Willingness to experiment and share your insights will be necessary for this

BEDAZZLED BRACELET (15 to Adult)

Learn to work with multiple stands of larger gage wire and
several different size beads. Bracelets can be designed to be simple and
elegant or to make a statement. Previous wire wrap experience is
